I'm lucky, little mange around here, none this year, fleas are non existent-
but I have taken a couple with lice- not bad enough to toss, but there-
is there ANY quick and easy way to get them off the fur?

I've always pitched the stinkin things but decided to try and salvage a big male last year. Shampooed it out really good twice by hand then rinsed it till the water was clear. Hung it up with a fan on it but it proved to be an excercise in futility. After dry it still stunk and the lice were too deeply entrenched to get them out of the under fur. Maybe a machine wash if you can find one you'll never do your own clothes in?

I say chuck them, as early coyotes in a down turning market not worth an extra minute to try and salvage a licey yote. Latest outlook on coyotes is not very enticing, bobcats either.
Nervous buyers for many reasons.

I have a few every year with some lice, and once out, they sell just as well as anything else- this is of course if not covered with lice, but only a few small patches
best thing I've found, is to spray it good with flea spray- let it dry then brush. then wash it good- and I've bene able to rid the pelt of them- just wondering if there was an easier way

what risk?
its fur for heavens sake- a small patch of lice isn;t a big deal- agian, Im NOT talking investations-
clean it out- and it sells for the same as any other- been doing such for almost 3 decades a few each year
canine lice cannot lie on humans

steve I always got a couple of big xtra heavy duty garbage bags with a can of Black Flag or some other outdoor bug spray.I haul them away from the set,put in the bag and spray down good.Close up the bag and skin them later. The bag has a pile of dead lice in it.It doesn't take long to kill the lice.I don't gland the sprayed coyote.Back in the high dollar coyote/fox days in Montana you didn't pitch $163.00 coyotes cause they got cooties!!! pop some of them into a vial with some 70% etoh, and I'll get them next year at the wisc convention. Date and species and location. There a 5 species of lice on coyotes in Canada but few are collected and studied they can bite and transmitt tulermia

get some body bags from a matress manufacture... they are 12 mm thick and the size you want, not feet puncture the bags and they can be re-used for many a critter. Once the spay of the insecticide is in there it last for quite a while.
