Loop 2 has been my weakest loop last 2 years, so I tried to tweak it and managed to do that. I significantly increased the numbers, but its still going to be my weakest loop (I hope LOL!) I did pick up 4 doubles and a triple on this loop, only 1 double on 1st loop past week was a rainy week, 0nly 1 real rain night of 1.5 inches, but before that, we had dizzle, mist, light rain on and off for a week, adding up to another inch or so- what a difference that rain made, in setting out loop 3. Day and night difference in drilling holes and putting in sets. Went to peat and dry dirt, mostly using the peat as a moisture barrier. With no rain, could be bold on the field 'roads" and thats comforting had a few long walks last thursday where we couldn't drive, and thats enough of those for the year! We got out all but 3 locations set up, so will do those today. this week is perfect weather- 40s during day, around 30 at night (23 this am) and dry for the entire week Adding up these 2 loops vs last year, am up in numbers. so far, so good. same coyote as above- just to show its color- I've never caught a black one, but get one of these "dusky" colored ones every once in a while last 2 traps of loop 2..... a singleton there the day before- made a few flat sets and thats just on edge of left side of pic thanks for looking!

took my grandson out today- he used to water trap a little with me when he was a little kid before they moved out west- but he moved back here last spring and got a good job
we coyote trapped a little in Wy and MT and he caught a couple on his own- we had a good day for day one of new loop, 5 and a badger- I asked him if seeing coyotes was pretty cool..he said sure was!
too bad you had to go get a job I told him.....LOL
