I'd remake the first set by raking up the dirt and debris in the circle as backing, then put the hole at the base of the mound about 10-12 inches from center of hole to center of the trap pan. Then I'd make a second dirthole set about 5 yards away, probably in the direction I think the coyote was coming from. You should have had 2 sets there in the first place and caught both of them the first night.
