I think the river south of the house is starting to floe backwards.

Kids are happy havent mowed the grass in a month or more and i can honestly say i have not been bit by a mosquito this year

Mike as to the ND trips planned by others in WI. I talked with two trappers from Northern WI and they were out prospecting in ND and found almost all the area they asked permission on already spoken for. Sounds like a lot of people going to make the trek. I am retiring this December. My boss will soon and he traps also. We contacted several SD and ND college staff about areas and then contacted wardens and land owners etc. The SD plans went by the wayside with the NR rule changes and the drying up of a lot of rat area. We were contemplating ND and were making stools and talking with people from ND. Heard some horror stories regarding trap theft etc. Don't know if we will do a spring run or not. If I did go I would probably go in the dead of winter and cut open houses. Hard work, slow but not many others at it and you know the rats will be in the houses. When it gets really cold in the dead of winter rats really slow down movement and the baited sets just don't produce as well. I will talk to more guys at the WTA this fall and see how their last trips went. Talked with Trapper Art and he and his partner really cashed in and his plan is to do better this year.

"3-ring circus" comes to mind when I think of what North Dakota might be like next spring. Would not be surprised a bit if ND duplicates what happened in SD.

Steven, I've been wondering about all the blah-blah going on as well. Sounds like a "Rat Woodstock" happening. ;D
