Grabbed a colony trap today.Took off walking figuring it's time to find some rats here.A half mile later and a tough walk through long grass and gullies I found some and a set.Rat heaven it's not but later in the season I guess the walks are worth it.Usually take a few more traps than one colony with but in this case that's all I needed.I do have a bad habit of once I start walking I can't stop. That next bend may have those rat runways you can see from outer space you know. lol Getting to old to run like a young kid but I guess getting too old is not being able to do it.

I wish I would have known earlier that you dont have to walk to catch rats. My gps tells me I only walked right under 8 miles today on the rat line. I think the dam things lies, I am sure it was farther than that. I wish it would snow so I can dig out the snowmobile. Rich I hear you tried to drive the pickup down to the waters edge to check traps. Twine lowering deal sounds way better lol

Good rat prices and rats next to the road man it sucks to be looking for rats all a time.Maybe I should think about going west and trap houses for a week or two if the winter is decent snow wise.Be one of the last Minnesotans to set foot in the sacred rat marshes of SD. lol

Prolly be a good year for it Paul. With the low water and many slews drying up in SD, I would think theyd be concentraited in the ones that remain. Im trying my darnest to get work done here and try to head north before the snow hits. Im gonna have to stop answearing the phone if I wanna get out of here.
