I saw that ave also but I wonder what type of clearances figured into that...and how many a guy might have left over as no sale. What will the number go down to once they sell? I/d like to know before this next FHA pickup...on sunday. I hope some numbers come out soon.

If there were 9dollar plus averages with a sizeable amount of spring rats included that would put rats at all time highs in my opinion. How the market can be so high for a animal with so few square inches of fur is amazing to me.You would think at those prices they would find cheaper alternative fur.It does seem like unlike other fur right now a rat is a rat regardless of fur or leather or even slight damage.Almost a nose count market.LOL Can't image it staying quite this easy, grade and price wise.

Paul I wouldnt say there was a large amount of spring rats on the FHA sale but who really knows I guess.
I suppose the pickup agent could give a guy an idea.
In may 2010 the rat average at fha was 7.50 and at nafa they reported 7.47.
Maybe one of these days the guys at FHA will be done punching in the information to their adding machines and we will have an idea.
Calvin I am going to surmise it was pretty much 100 percent clearance or it will be when the PT is done.

My season collection of rats averaged $10.16. Most were caught in Nov. and early Dec. A friend of mine had his season collection there and averaged $11.25. All of my rats and all of his sold. Got $7.70 for damaged rats and I had one that looked like swiss cheese.

For spring rats, the result is awesome!
I heard buyers were bidding in the $8+ for rats full of holes. They couldn't fill up their orders!

I talked to someone who was up there and bought rats who told me the collection of rats was actually pretty good quality wise.

Can't wait to see NAFA results and also the last sale of the season at FHA in June.

Anyone want to speculate (OK...just guess then) on rat averages at the FHA June auction? Higher or lower than the May sale?

My guess would be the average will be lower as more Spring rats should be on this sale. That said, if it is a good rat with no bites it will still bring great money.

Anyone want to speculate (OK...just guess then) on rat averages at the FHA June auction? Higher or lower than the May sale? its going to be better than a couple years ago when I averaged a buck and change lol. I've been thinking about this calvin. I'd wager that some of those rats of yours will be shipped to north bay and they will end up back at the guy you sold to the other day lol.

Yeah...I wonder. I had a hard time trying to decide how many to ship and how many to sell for good money.
I had my concerns about all the spring rats hitting this auction as well.
Always a gamble.

You've sold or are going to sell enough for a good chunk of change why not ship some for the heck of it to see how they grade and how they sell, its kinda fun.
When is the pickup date at you area calvin.
