I work for them part time on a contract basis, as a trapper consultant and monitor the trapper forums. No official title, just an old trapper guy who has worked in almost every aspect of the raw fur industry. Keep you updated with news releases and answer questions you may have relative to NAFA. As well we will be doing some picture upgrades to the web site relative to pelt handling. Possibly even some short video in the future.

Not being of a suspious nature "ya right" but I did go down to the NAFA head quaters today and checked out trapperron. He Is legit and every body had nothing but good things to say about him. And he does have the backing to speak for NAFA.
Welcome aboard Ron.

Hi Ron It is nice to see another BC trapper on the forum. For any one interested, Ron has trapped for many decades and has been active at the BC Trappers convention as a MC and presenter for the past 20 years and maby longer but that is how long I have known him. Before coming to BC, Ron worked as a fur grader and with the auction houses but I dont know which ones. Ron brought this auction house knowlege out west with him and passed it on to local trappers through fur handling demos at our conventions. Ron is a well respeced trapper here in British Columbia and mentioned one time at a convention that he has caught over 1500 beaver. Ron, I am surprised that you refer to yourself as an old trapper guy though. Welcome aboard Paul Trepus www.inzanaoutfitters.comwww.wolftrapping.com

Well thank you Paul. I've probably trapped closer to 2500 beavers. Actually I was only gone from BC for 5 years to manage Trappers International. I first became active with the BC trappers in 1971 as Vice pres until 1979, then president from 1979 till 1985.
Don't mind you checking out my credentials at all TheBeav, and thanx for the welcome.
I will say that my expertise lies in pelt preparation for the fur market, how the auction system works, and humane trapping systems. I will leave problems you may have with grading/sizing to the current graders, unless they are questions of a general nature.

how long does it take the nafa to post info on your furs in your account on line? They start entering after each item is sold and they show up online as they are entered. You can follow along by looking at the catalogs as the auction progresses. Also if you have unsold goods don't forget to check again the next day or as the sale continues. Some unsold may be sold by private treaty after they have been offered in auction.

Whats the latest news on the stability of the fur market from the "front line"?
Does NAFA still anticipate a large numbr of buyers with money to spend in light of the further detereoration of the economy, here and overseas?
I'm hoping to get a decent price for the fur I've shippd to them but in reality think it will be a couple years before the market stabalizes itself enough to see fur prices back to normal.

There will be about 250,000 fresh coon offered and about 300,000 stale coon offered. My sources tell me that there will be a plenty of buyers at the May sale. They have to show a line of credit before they can buy. So far that line of credit hasn't been established yet. So we don't know how Interested they will be In whats offered. Robert I told them to fire sale all your fur and that you would be OK with It.
