I know you guy won`t want to hear it , but I`ve always had the best luck calling Fox in close with the grey adult kickin the crap out of a red junior. I`ve tried all kinds of loads and found the #6 shot high brass to deliver a death blow "almost" every time. Of course you have to hit em dead on. This is coming from a guy who`s never called in a grey though. Succesfully that is. I`ve shot over a hundred Reds and never shot one Grey. Anybody got any insight on that?

I doubt that I have killed anywhere near a hundred greys, but have easily called well over a hundred. I let them go, usually, while targeting coyotes and bobcat. But, never killed a red? I saw four or five reds in Saskatchewan last year, never got off a shot. Saw one on the Navajo res last year, never got off a shot. They seem very skittish, to me. I'd actually like to take one, just to say I did.
Good hunting. LB
