I am finding I like a double hit better than a single strike on the neck.
This year I am going to try suitcase them all.
Big males are hard to kill unless hit right behind the ears.
Interesting read on the study of ground vs elevated Danny. I prefer on the ground as well.

how?
Let em get in the trap more.
I've been thinking about monkeying with opening up the trigger or sliding it to the side like furhandler.
Maybe even go to some type of a conipan but I dont know if I would like the idea of catching more weasels that will surely happen if I do that.
Dont like it when a 6-9 dollar weasel is in the trap and a 80 dollar fisher track is around the set.

If you make shallow slots, to hold your trap in the cubby box the trap will spring towards to animal when it is fired. It gives you a deeper catch. That, with off center triggers, will up your suit cases.
Do you want weasels or not?

Sure I do. At least the last couple seasons when we have been getting more per square inch for them than any other critter.
Dont want em in my fisher sets though.
Had on in a trap this year that a fisher came along and bit him and peed on it. Hmm 4 dollar weasel couldve been an 80 dollar fisher.

That, with off center triggers, will up your suit cases. Do you want weasels or not? That's how my short box is set up, 2" slots and the trap is pushed in tight to the back to allow it to spring out. I've even suitcased some fisher in it with the #120,and you would not believe how far some big males have gone in.
