I see in the American Trapper they said something about a greyfox BMP coming out.
I can't wait to see this one. Coon can be hell. But these little guys man I would like to see what they scored.
I personally have seen both sides with grey's. I have caught greys in #3 all the way to #1.5. Even caught a grey in a JAKE Trap.
What does everyone think about how this is going to come out.

Dave,
They are tough little critters that get themselves worked into a frenzy sometimes eh!
I think there will be alot of trappers trapping "coyotes" if there isn't a suitable foothold (i.e. 1.5 coil) that passed for greys...and any greys caught as "incidentals" wink wink will just have to be kept.

Well Mark maybe the 1.5 softy will come out good. But yes I do believe I will be coyote trapping with the 1.5 coil.

Years ago when I trapped grays in NE,Iowa one of the best traps was 1.75 victor offset and to have 3 swivels on each trap and keep chain under 10" in length and they faired pretty darn well. They love to roll and having great swiveling is the key to keeping there feet looking nice. I also caught many in 1.5 offset montys, same thing good swivels and they faired nicely.

I have had real good results with the BMI 2 cushion catch. The greys had very good feet. I have even held yotes in them. It has its drawbacks, but is good fox trap.
Best regards,

Good comments guys. After some PM I think the lighter the trap the better they will be.
I am only using the #3 right now because of the seriuos freeze and thaw in the Northern MI. Also have many coyotes running the river banks right also. I guess I have have seen is the males are a lot harder on them selves then the females.
