Bob I'd have taken more pics but he was hindfooted by two toes.
Didn't want to take a chance of losing him.
Buried walkin set not as reliable as an uncovered wwlkthrough set.
He's definitely a bobcat, one of the best bellies I ever seen I think.
I'll stretch him this morning and see.
Could be a sale topper!! Joel

Cool pic Joel, thanks.
The Wildlife Commision reports that most of the released lynx stayed in the core area of the release, but some of the original lynx relocated to Colorado have moved into Utah, Wyoming, New Mexico, Montana, Idaho, Arizona, Nebraska, Nevada, Kansas and South Dakota.

Joel, I wonder if Colorado's Lead Lynx Researcher, Dr Tanya Shenk, has told NDOW biologists about lynx in Nevada? Wildlife Commission Meeting: November 8, 2006 Lynx Fact Sheet Tanya Shenk Reintroduction Effort: From 1999-2005, 204 lynx were released in Colorado. Fourteen additional animals (8 males: 6 females) were released in spring 2006 resulting in a total of 218 lynx reintroduced to southwestern Colorado. All lynx were released in the core area of southwestern Colorado. The CDOW will not release any lynx in 2007. Lynx Locations: Most of the lynx released remain in either the release the core area: New Mexico north to Gunnison, west as far as Taylor Mesa and east to Monarch Pass. Lynx have also established a core area in the Collegiate Peaks/Taylor Park area. We have had some movement of lynx in Colorado north of I70 and into Utah, Wyoming, New Mexico, Montana, Idaho, Arizona, Nebraska, Nevada, Kansas and South Dakota.

We just had one caught in Ks. near Great Bend last Sunday. It came complete with a tracking collar and a empty belly. It is still alive and I think they are making arrangements to send it back to where it came from. Jeff it came across the county just north of you.
