Same rain conditions here, most places soggy and more rain on the way. My season opens the 20th so have some leeway if dry spell comes along. ALot of corn and beans still in fields and if this weather keeps up they will be staying there. Well i will put this rain to good use, got to cut some more screen and change some traps to high levers....

another inch and a little more. But sunny this am, although sprinkles this afternoon. Tomorrow will start setting- will be wearing sissy pants tomorrow (flannel lined) and cold weather gear- high around 40, wind chill lower 20s.
only good thing- after all this, coyotes should be on the move.
will have to set this loop up, but then will leave it and run it concurrently with the 2nd loop. More traps and miles than I really want...but what can you do?

a cold blustery day- but not the worse I've had. Some snow flurries- but all and all the dirt wasn't too bad to work with. Set everything up with peat- had several farms couldn't set up because of crops. That wind last night and all day really helped- and suppose to be a dry spell for next 10 days or so. and warmer into next week. hard freeze tonight, and maybe sun morning- so will quit using peat then. I'd rather not use it, than use it.
this wind is suppose to drop tonight, so maybe some action. did see a few tracks from last night.
Access via field roads wasn't the worst- and nice to know it will just get better- hopefully this weekend some crops will go- combine heads for beans sitting all over- they want to go. One guy chopping corn today

Well, didn't tear em' up- and will say barn cats really moving last night. Had a big coon to release, 2 traps run over, plus 1 deer snapped- only had 23 traps out, so wasn't too unhappy with the day. Set up 3 more locations, all had fresh sign. Good ot see the sun, and dry for at least next 7 days

sweet Lord! woke up to light rain- don't think it's suppose to amount to much....but come on! did a little better yesterday- for the small amount of traps out, I'm not unhappy with my results. All but 2 so far pups, and I like that. Fur looks pretty decent- bellies are as good as I've had early. Few burrs and thats always nice. Saw quite a few picking corn yesterday, so it's a start- but beans.....mushy in the pod and thats not good.

Picked up some more cow heads and a few white hip bones in a dead pile. Those things are very valuable in my coyote trapping line.

Looks like a top end of a water way one of my favorite places to set. Got 2 big meat boxes full of broke femur bones and 15 cow heads and assorted hip bones all ready. Going to cut 100 trap pan covers and then go time.
