Passable day today. Had 8 coyotes and 2 possums Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday slower. 7 coyotes, 1 fox and a cat which didn't come home with me today, Friday. Have caught 3 cats so far, released all of them. I'm starting to regard them as a spotted possum. A lot of mange in my area this year.

didn't know you had that many cats.
I see you are still bringing them home- have you given any thought to skinning in the field? truck went on me this year, so had to finsh last 3 days without my skinner- if I ever had any doubt about skinning in the field, skinning at home for a couple nights took care of that.
I notice no coon- do you regularly get a few coon? I used to get 100+ in coyote traps- only 4 this year- some of that is different locations, but most is just few coon
you have had wonderful weather- hope that continues for you!

Catch several coon a year. In past years I rarely held one, they always got out of those bigger traps with offsets. This year, when no one will even buy them, I've held everyone of them. They've all been big old suckers like the one pictured. Haven't skinned very many this year. Lots of mange and burr damage. Generally throw them in the truck so that land owners can see them. They get a kick out of seeing coyotes in a pile.
