got the 2nd loop set out yesterday- had a couple of farms blocked out of. I'm able to find some "open" on most farms- running 39 traps on this loop. first check off to a good start- and a nice red- that I had to release since fox doesn't open til saturday-

wasn't as bad as I thought it might be- we had a driving snow all day, but tiny, tiny flakes (not sleet) that never accumulated much- yet at end of day, my coat and jeans soaked. Field roads ok enough- suppose to stop soon, then windy and cold. but sunny. I can deal with wind and cold far more than wet
3 on 24 traps partial loop, 4 today with full loop for now of 45 traps (147 miles). I'd like to average 1 coyote per 10 traps on this loop and its a good start.
thought more traps on this loop, but "locked " out a couple farms by corn
in the previous pic with the seagulls- note the corn goes on forever. My reality. Looking for "islands" of bare/open
Lee- been getting both some decent bellies along with a pale enough for this area color. 7-8 big old males that are poor, and a couple golden toned. plus one today- hard to skin- a grizzled but ugly coyote.
but more often than not- dent enough
cameras been f'ing up for a few days- quit today- might be able to post from loris cell phone we shall see.

gave a lesson to a guy had a set up just like your last photo. Super spot just like you picked he could not see the reason for that location. I just could not get it into his head why it was so good. Everything comes together long ridge Great grass lanes a Natural. Nice pictures might have some in a week for ya to see. I am getting the itch. Can't wait to head South with Carlis to hook up some coyotes.

plugging along- 2-4 a day on this loop. new camera came, I'll have a few pics I hope to share.
Really like the 12" cables vs the 18"- both in putting in, and pulling out.
Been using 100% peat moss- big guides and lots of peat is the key

Interesting that fox starts later than yotes. Must be a state way to provide some ADC work to get rid of yotes free of charge to the tax payer.

coyotes are unprotected in Mn- can be trapped/hunted all year. we had a continuous season on coon/fox for a few years, but that changed a decade or more ago.

No state should have a coyote season.

Got out a bunch of beaver snares on some dredge ditches for pay , Coyotes are real thick set in 4 in one place and 2 in another. Bumped 1 myself and a farmer said he seen 6 the other day. Mine looked real nice. Should bring a gun but shooting them don't really thrill me.

I'm reasonably set up on my lines. Marten boxes are almost all set except fr a half dozen which should get set tomorrow. I popped the dozen mark on marten catches a couple of days ago and that isn't too shabby for a week including setting. Fox and beaver are slow. Wolves have a surprise waiting for them when they swing back. Fur looks good - except for red squirrels! They are not near prime yet.
Does anyone know a server that hosts third party. Haven't taken a photo yet due to the PhotoBucket stuff. Thanks.

Got 3 coyotes out of the 6 traps it was a good start. Set 2 more in a place that looks like one of your high top locations Trapperman. I even threw out a cow head as well.Setting in a big line today finally got the house all winterized.

you know how I love tall grass!!!! lol
the reds are looking good- none in past 3 weeks, then yesterday and today- all on different farms, all miles apart
looks like decent weather next 8 days- minor precip, and after sunday night, above freezing rest of week.
went through 7 bales of peat in last loop and this one, luckily conditions are such I can use dry dirt along with the peat. Next year- 10 bales for sure.
