Nope, it won't go.
I can see it but I guess because they are my friends on facebook?
It's a video of our local Boy Scouts raising the flag, with the high school band playing the anthem, just before the start of Friday night's game. Wanted to point out that nobody is "taking a knee" on Yellow Jacket Field.

That's probably right. I'd like to see them step onto Yellow Jacket field, and take a knee. I figure someone would plant a good swift kick on their rearend too.

if I saw someone taking a knee, I'd stand next to them. (ps at a political rally last week, I placed my hand over my heart for the allegiance)

I agree with what you're saying, in a way. That's their right, just a lack of respect in my opinion too.
Let me ask, have you ever watched an Honor Guard fold up an American flag, and hand it to a grieving widow or child of a fallen soldier? Have you ever listened to the words that are spoken?
Have you ever listened to Taps? Would it be ok for someone to "take a knee" during the playing of Taps?
Have you ever listened to a 21 gun salute? Ready, Aim, Fire. And hear the shots echo off of the next ridge?
Would it be ok to "take a knee" during Taps?
Would it be ok to "take a knee" during a 21 gun salute?
I guess it'd all be the same thing. I will tell you this, it won't happen on my family cemetery.

As a veteran I have performed those duties multiple times for our VFW post, and your implication is that if a citizen does not follow each and everyone of your prescribed thought patterns they are not patriots? Glad you were not in my chopper.

Bryce, thanks for your service and for the sacrifices made by you and your family.
It just comes down to a lack of respect, in my opinion. As long as I'm able to stand, I'll stand for our National Anthem. And the next time I hear Taps being played, I'll do my best to show respect for the fallen. I'll do the same the next time I hear a 21 gun salute.
My opinion, "taking a knee" during any of those events, is very similar to disrespecting the American flag.

I just took great offense to what I felt was a post trying to shame Steve into feeling guilty about not agreeing exactly to what you believe to be a sign of being a patriot and or a good citizen of the USA. Maybe I read too much into that but I still feel that was the attempt. It is one thing to stand on a porch and bad mouth people about being disrespectful it is another whole issue writing letters home to loved ones that were lost while on duty with you that is about all I can add to this at this time.

No, Bryce I wasn't attempting to shame anyone.
My opinion, the very least that a person can do is at least show a little respect, and dignity to our National Anthem. I guess that's anyone's right, if they want to sit or "take a knee".
I guess it's just moral decay. I've been taught to respect my elders, respect our military and police. It seems things have changed, for the worse in my opinion.

"I can see it but I guess because they are my friends on facebook?" Exactly the only people that can see things posted on one's facebook page are "friends" they have okayed, unless they have their page set as open to public.
I agree about showing respect for things. However, we live in an age where it's allowed to disrespect anything and everything in the most vile and disgusting ways, and people will defend it. If all parents taught their children to show respect to their elders, etc. it would help, but those parents are the same people showing such a lack of respect in the words and actions. Sad for America for sure.

Pam I Have to say this ! We actually agree on something OMG! The reasons for your disgust is the many liberials who want to take things to a far extreme. Surely you can see that ? They are the ones thinking anything is fair game in all reality. They use the "guise" of freedom to do such vile things for the majority .
Our public schools lack accountability, parents as well, sued to be the principle called your parents you knew there was going to be big trouble more often than not, too many parents today come in with a chip on their shoulder and not my son or daughter and will defend even though the evidence shows other wise.
Going back to many things with an old school approach would not be all bad for sure!

Jim come on, it is not about standing for anything, but more how far can we take our silliness under the guise of rights. We see it year in and year out.
You are free to see it a different way , just as I am seeing it how I do.
