It really shows how we have evolved politically when you use the majorities in two houses to stalemate government strategically so you can win 1 (one) office. Why elected those 535 politicians if they are going to sit around with large staffs with their thumbs up their butts for several years. Also it is interesting to note that there is no reference by any party today as to their last years lack of production. Everything now is about what we want for tomorrow and why the opposition will be at fault. A president has a 40% approval rating and that causes a party with a less then 20% approval rating to gain members now that is irony at its best and probably has many political science professors and teachers wondering how that computes.

Bryce- I feel one of the main issues, and perhaps the paramount one- is that our population has become stupid.
and that blows me away, because everyone it seems has a smart phone, providing instant access to the internet, or are dinosaurs like me and have no smart phone, but do use a computer- and information is THERE- it can be found in minutes if not seconds- but every poll asking information such as where countries are, how things are made, who are their representatives or even whats the capital of the United States---and its mind boggling on how few know the answers.
all information is the instant sound bite- matters not if true, untrue. A quick facebook imgflip and it becomes fact. and our voter turnout? thank God for us old people, or it would be horrible
I don't know the solution- perhaps a true populist 3rd party-
the Tea Party wasn't such by any means- the TP was a spinoff ultra conservative group that didn't think their origin party should meet in the middle to get things done, but was the opposite extreme in thinking that the GOP was obstructionist enough

One of the large issues with a 3rd party that may want to carve voters out of the massive center of voters is with current campaign strategies how do moderates, centrists or politicians who are willing to govern with compromise and discussion secure the needed hundreds of millions to use the high cost media to sway voters? The funds for a successful centrist party would need to come from lower middle class, middle class and upper middle class voters with limited wealth for politics and very few large firms or causes that would support a party that believes that governing is better than stalemate and or creating labels and decisiveness. Not much emotional support in todays my way or the high way or me first culture for a society first based principle. We had political disagreements in the past but they were strongly based on broad ideas of each party and when these parties became ineffective 3rd parties arouse for a while and that over time caused the prevailing parties to make adjustments. Today we seem to have the we will fight them or him or her without even having a statement on where they stand on the issue. It is we will not and it does not matter what is being said by whom. Boehner does this and so does Pelosi and so did Reid. Now the WH is stating they will look closely at executive order to move along issues. That certainly could have been done earlier with all the gridlock and I doubt the Dem's would have fared any worse had that been done. Right now it sounds like a do nothing Congress is essentially advocating to do even less if that is possible. If I were in the WH I would push for executive orders to move on issues with that attitude against me. After all Bush went into two nations with two war fronts and asked for permission after the case so doing so on other issues is not something new.

Corporations were created for many reasons and one is tax advantage but there are several others that include, being able to lobby and support causes without having to do so personally or put your name on the line that works for political pacts and 529 funds as well. Huge amounts of monies can be shipped overseas or into politics by firms that reveal very little if any ID of the managers, owners, members etc. This has been done to specifically eliminate the individuals that fund these firms, causes or ventures. The partnerships or corporations also greatly minimize personal loss financially and greatly limit the liability be that legal or otherwise. Most of the corporations I work with are small and thus it was tax advantage and liability in mostly agriculture related issues, such as accidents etc.
