I know that vets usually give you Suroloan but at 30 bucks for a 15 ml. bottle there must be an equivalent in the human pharmacy that's available without a prescription.
Any ideas?
thanks.

My vet (incredible guy) told me a long time ago to just buy a douche from the pharmacy and drip it in the ear each day.

My vet (incredible guy) told me a long time ago to just buy a douche from the pharmacy and drip it in the ear each day. A douche? I've met a few of those. Kidding aside, that is one answer I did not expect. Polysporin or something similar was more like it. Thanks for the info. I guess I'll be the talk of the female hygiene aisle as I start squinting to read the ingredients on one of the many different types. What ingredient am I looking for? Does a jasmine/herbal scent help?

A mild solution of borac acid and rubbing alcohol, does wonders in cleaning up mild ear infections. put a small amount in ear, massage the canal well, gently clean out mess with q tips, repeat until the q tips are clean-
redo every couple of days until cured.
mites on the other hand, you need that powder- a sulfite concoction I beleive- used to be able to buy it in farm stores, pet stores etc- its specifically made for ear mites.

I like to put 2 or 3 douches, a box of magnum condoms, and a economy size bottle of KY in my shopping cart and just walk around walmart and watch how people react, then just leave.

Add disposable cameras, lots of size d batteries, first aid kit, and a Halloween mask and you have the makings of a party. So ... no clue as to what is in the douche that removes the infection? Steve: thanks.
