I actually dont know how people can function in the modern world w/o a cordless drill, I mean they are SO HANDY, for multitude of tasks. Ill spend 10 minutes, finding my drill, looking for the bits, switching out batteries off chargers, and walk by my handheld screwdriver 5 times to drive 2 screws. About like walking by the TV 5 times to find the remote, LOL.
good one!

Yep, just found my dads augers and they dont fit so well. I will be modding the augers and the yard will be drilled full of holes today. How are they for frozen and semi frozen ground?

If the ground is frozen like it did this past winter, you're up the creek. You better bring some dynamite for a hole and throw the drill away. If you plan on trapping late into the season its very important to get your holes pre-drilled in oct/november.

50: I've heard that they throw salt down the hole. That's to preserve the fish because it takes so long to haul them top side.

Heck with the manual labor and carrying batteries. I'm going to get a small gas powered one like I've seen on another site. 200.00 at harbor frieght.

If the fact be known I use very few dirt holes. SC fur seems to be more Into flat sets. Only pussies use cordless drills man up

If you use Rich's auger make sure you have a drill with a 1/2" chuck. A 3/8" is too small.

I got an old worn-out Ice Auger, cut off the bottom half and welded-on a 3" digger I got from RK...... Been using it for several years now. Thinking about fixing one up to go onto the power unit of a gas Ice Auger........ Hmmmmmmmmm.......

I`ve used the devault and bit. and I went back to my hand "T" digger. I can hand dig my hole faster than any drill can, time I get drill out, put away, haul around etc. but I`m fast ands strong and just do my thing. I can hammer in ,dig ,and set faster than most can get the drill out and put away. just saying how it is. simplicity and work ethic and a proven system = success.
