Good luck,I too think you made the right choice. It will be fun for you having them at the auction anyhow. From checking out grading sheets to watching the auction on line.It makes it a little more fun.I would think you should at the least end up with about the same profit. With upside possible. But no one has a Chrystal ball even Groeny or NAFA for that matter. How can i watch the auction live?

Yes,check the NAFA website. You basically listen to it and see what they are selling by grade, size etc and the bidding .After you get your lotting letter and evaluation, grading sheets you then can follow along and know which lots you have fur in and immediately if they sell and for how much.

For sign up, once you have your account #, you log onto the account and get a password. you can have more than one account if say you have parners to share a certain amount with. Or just phone and get one, before it had to come in the mail, your IP# cross links so if you go on another comp , remember you number's code. Once they are graded and the auction is happening there is a way to go through your account and see what is in the lots being offered becaue it is highlited. Firefox blocks the media player so you have to turn off. You will start to recognize voice patterns of people bidding and polling bids.
Best be that you have a couple of those blue boxes ready early in the morning.
It would be interesting to test your skill of grading to put all those ' no value in one pile" and see what the outcome would be. With thoses separate accounts you can do that.

For me to get the 9% commission wouldnt i need to buy a member ship for each account i set up then?

No they are linked together under the same membership.Go with An automatic bank deposite also gets money deposited and does not have to wait for sailmail and a trip to the bank afterwords when the cheque comes in. They do come out in time, but getting to bank.. well sometimes we do forget. Discuss it with the head office what you want.disclaimer..i'm not an employee of NAFA
Alot of times used for family memberships. or partnerships.
Next time; It would be interesting to test your skill of grading to put all those ' no value in one pile" and see what the outcome would be. With thoses separate accounts you can do that. bet you It would buy all the fluid replacement for that winter fishing trip with NickC

I have dropped my fur off at the shipping point. I do not have even one account number at this time.... What i am asking for is detail to how i get my first account set up and how i can add a second account... If i add a second account now how do i get fur between the two accounts?? I would also like to set up the direct deposit thing, how can this be done? I was wondering if my bank is gonna have a problem with me possible cashing a large check like that or if they are gonna say something about paying income taxes on that money...... If maybe i could get a couple small checks or deposits maybe that wouldnt matter?? I think you are right that i will make enough on those junk coon to buy a couple blue boxes

Have them deduct the $100 from your first sale check. If you only get what you were first offered the roughly $8,050 then 2% of that is $160 and you have a membership for 4 more years. If the 70 some coon you were offered about $1.25 at go up to $3.00 you pay for the WFSC $100 5 year membership. Bryce

The last time I had a check for more than 5 grand from NAFA i had to wait over a month to cash it something about foreign funds BS I am going to look into the direct deposit myself. I would give it a few days and call the Wis office Brett.

The paper work has to be done first....and the paper is on the truck with your fur. It will all work out once the fur gets through the door. Thing are done a little different in Canada, especially with taxes and royalities etc, we have to declair our own when doing income taxes in our year ends.
Rember to save all those bills for blue boxes as deductables, that's why I call them fluid replacement mechandise, if they go as enertainment expense then only 1/2 can be claimed, haha

Brett its easy to set up more than one account.
I have 4.
You wont be able to do it with your current shipment and wouldnt do you any good no how as you wouldnt be able to hand pick the fur in each account.
Next year when you go to ship just lot out what you want in each account and on your paper work scribble out the account number and write special account or you could probably call the office and tell them you want extra accounts in your name and they can set them up and mail you your shipping paper work with the new account nunbers on the paperwork.
It will all be in your name so you will only need one Wild fur council membership to receive the discounts.
I believe, and I have never tried this, that if you call the stoughton office and ask they can print you more than one check on the same account if you want your checks in smaller installments.
I got an 800 number here somewhere for the WI office if you want it, Tara should be able to help you.
If a bank gives you any chit about the check and foriegn funds you show them where it says the check is drawn on an american bank. I dont care where the company is located at they check is drawn on an american bank, so its american funds.
I have had trouble in the past.
Here is how it went the last time I had trouble.
Bank- its a foriegn check.
Me-do I have enough to cover if it bounces.
Bank-more than enough.
Me well than cash it or me and my accounts will leave today.
No more problems lol.

I tried that , no luck
and being that I dont trust banks I will never have 5 gs in any account at one time. so thats out gonna look into the direct deposit though .

Ok, as i understand this I have no benefit from setting up another account this year.
but, now you have me worried about having to pay taxes on this, I have had a check right around 6000 from greony one time and didnt have a problem. What do i need to do to make sure i am not going to be paying taxes on this money.......
Can anyone confirm that if i call up there they will cut me a couple checks if needed? If i go with direct deposit will that get rid of all the problems?
Thanks for all the information!
Brett

You are going to have to call up there anyhow to get a password set up for you to watch your account , just ask about it when you do. However you should be paying taxes on it anyway......

Brett, Keep all those receipts for those traps you bought and gas mileage ,etc. They will offset your income from the fur. A good tax man will help.

When a guy starts looking at mileage and expenses this fur trapping doesn't look very lucrative as Bob W. was quick to tell us. LOL
