I had a lion run across the road in front of me last night about 9:30 pm, heading towards town. I was at work and we can't run lions in Utah at night, so we made a plan to get after it this morning. Well we got lucky and treed him, he turned out to be a decent tom and the dogs did a good job. Here are some pics. Take care. Mason

How do you get the dog out of the tree if you don't shhot the cat?

Sometimes gravity does it, sometimes the cat does, sometimes both... Otherwise climb up and grab the dog.

Future kitty chasers... Jenna had 7 pups on Thursday night and into Friday morning. They're all doing good. I just clipped tails, dew claws and pads tonight. There are 4 males and 3 females. Sorry, none will be available. Take care.

I'm not bored. It's always good to see other people's installations.
The tarp is for wind? Shade? both?

Guest- I'm doing well buddy. Raising these dirt bred cat hounds, in the snow.
Looking forward to coming down to your neck of the woods around Christmas, and bringing some dogs, you wanna send me some hunches?
Bummer about Waycool's, looks like real houndsmen will have to call each other... Ike'll be alright though. He’ll just keep pounding his chest and threatening everyone with Karate… Look out.
Take care. Mason

Can do on the December thing, but you probably already have some ideas. These lions are camped right on a spring just north of Mack's Canyon so they should still be there or maybe drifted over toward Cold Creek by December. I'll try and keep an eye out for them.
And I got a trail cam photo yesterday of 3 lions drinking from a sheep guzzler in the Delamars so all you'd have to do is find the sheep there and you'd find lions. My good buddy Paul Harris is a big FNAWS guy and knows where all the sheep are in that unit so he can probably direct us.

T2- I saw that top pic on the Waycool site and said to my wife, "That looks like Macks Canyon"... Pretty funny.
You sure have been getting some awesome footage of those cats. I love watching the videos of them in a natural, non stressed state. Everytime I see them, there are crazy dogs trying to bite them.
I just booked a pup that is really heavy old Copper bred. He's a legend up here, as are you.
I'll never forget the day we went back to the old Ranch house on the backside of the mountain, and you made one of the best pistol shots I have ever seen on that little dog.
Goodtimes. I'll let you know when we get the dates worked out to come down. We can at least take my dogs out and find the deer and elk.
Take care. Mason

Mason married? What the @#$%? Wow, next thing you know, old Ike will be admitting his dogs are mortal or something. Ya, lets keep that pistol shot quiet until the statute of limitations expires. Man, I sure miss old Copper. You never appreciate a great dog until he's gone.
