Do any of the E-callers have real sounds or are they all sounds that come from mouth/mechanical calls? Also how do you add sounds to a FoxPro?

Makete they are all acutal coyote voclas the ones I'm referring too. The C series are all real coyotes. To add sounds the fp program and USB cable. pretty simple once you do it a time or two takes little time

pretty simple once you do it a time or two takes little time LOL yeah so is brain surgery. But for us dummer hicks it aint. I have listened to my fox pro and some/most of the sounds sound like they are man made. I would have thought that they "ALL" would have been natural sounds. I wanted to put some "real" sounds in from some sourse (dont where from, yet). Dont you have to trun those new sounds into wave sounds to down load?

It isn't that hard they have a tutorial to follow on their website step by step downloading. You must have all older sounds on your FP they have alot of newer real animal sounds on their website, the coyotes are from a trapper in WY and they are all authentic coyotes for sure. Look at their markII sounds most all of them are the real deal and not mouth calls, many to choose from for sure. The price is right on their sounds once you get the program downloaded it should save any new sounds you purchase in your FP folder on your C drive. What caller do you have? ? No need to reformat any sounds as your caller will play MP3,Wav or FPX which is their own file source and will only play on FP callers.

You don't want to overlook the fact that hundreds of thousands of predators have been called with "fake" sounds, better known as hand calls. Real sounds are great, but usually on a very short loop. A hand call(s) can do a three act play in less than fifteen minutes. Recordings of hand calls and lip squeaks can be very effective. Just as effective as "real" souds. Not always, but I wouldn't turn up my nose at artificially produced sounds, entirely.

I have the Fox-Pro FX5. And was listening to the deer sounds awhile back and they sound unnatural. But do like most of the predator sounds.

did you listen to the mark II sounds??? They are far better over the caller than online, but your ears should be able to tell you what is a mouth call and what isn't? I know the fawn distress sounds are great for coyotes and many of the coyote vocals the real ones are too.

Foxpro did release some new coyote vocals that I recorded. The sounds of mine, like TC said, are all real animals. I sort through alot of stuff to get the ones I think that will be effective for most people. Tons of sounds end up on the "cutting room floor". I try to get sounds I think that will work and then Steve Dillon cleans them up if they need it and formats them to FP. The stuff they released recently I used all summer denning and it was good. They also performed well this fall for several different guys testing them. Steve told me that they are at a point that all the sounds they offer now will be live animals. They are doing away with all man made sounds. But like LB I sort of disagree with that. Some of the old sounds by Bill Austin are still some of the best locator and calling sounds I ever used.

nothing at all, but an e caller is a real asset.

isn't the biggest advantage to e callers, that the sound is away from you?

sound away from you and also the realisim of the sounds that can be used and the selections of sounds. Plus volume is yet another asset. Also less movement at times versus hand calls.
The new foxpros you can set up an entire calling sequance start to finish with just a few button pushes in 20 minutes.

Absolutely, the advantage of having the sound that attracts the animal coming from a remote location can't be emphasized enough. This allows you some movement to scan and later, to mount a gun without being detected.
Another thing not mentioned. Hand calling all day and/or all night is extremely tiring. It's nice to be able to sit back and watch, instead of blowing your brains out. Using a hand call increases your heart rate and pulse and this dramatically affects your accuracy. I use both, but during the critical 2-7 minutes, I keep hand calling to a minimum. An opening series and a couple squawks at decent intervals is all you need to preserve your breath control when you need it most.
In total, a good ecaller is a huge advantage, if the objective is to call and kill predators. If you get satisfaction from luring them (exclusively) with a hand call, by all means, do it.
Good hunting. LB

Does Fox-pro charge for the newer sounds to download? Is it hard to put them into the caller?
