during the boom it was close to 30,000
but keep in mind, MN counts only those buying trapping lic- WI and other states include some other catagories, don't they?

The only other license that works for trapping is what we call the "Conservation Patron License". This basically allows you to do anything in the state. I "think" that when someone buys this license they are asked if they trap. That is what I have heard anyways. I do not know for sure if that number reflects only the "trapping license" or if it includes the people who buy the Patron and say they will trap.

In addition to what Nick C said above, there are some other categories as well. Coon hunters and fox hunters need a furharvesters liscense to kill coon and fox whether they are trappers or not. So the numbers are a little skewed.
