I hate to disagree with your vet calvin- but hes thinking like a person, and not a dog.
if a dog likes the food, there is no need to change.
many times you get a dog raised on one feed, and it takes a few days before he truely wants another type.
mixing food isn't going to cause loose stools in most cases- in fact, its the recommended method when changing brands- to mix the first couple of bags, then change over.
but when changing brands constantly, it can and does happen. Esp if changing to a different base type food.
stop your brands today, and feed something like gravy train tomorrow- and you will see the difference.

Been feeding 17 hounds Retriever green bag until a week before training season kicks in, then switch to the blue bag.. Have fed about every kind of dogfood found on the east coast and Retrieve is what my hounds like.
