I was reading another post, and read Steve Craig mention using non prey sounds for bobcats.....I assume that he was talking about male/female vocalizations.
Just curious as to if that what you guys are actually referring to when you talk about non prey sounds....and if these sounds are commercially available for downloading??
Thank you for your time.

Thank you Steve...are those sounds pretty much what you rely on when calling bobcats? What i'm trying to figure out is how important the bobcat vocalizations are to you...if you had one sound to use for the next 5 years to call bobcats, would it be a prey sound/or a male/female vocalization sound?
Thank you.

Do any of you know if there is a tape or video which has the vocalizations on it, and where to get it?

Thats the problem, there is no one sound. You really need to use both to be effective. Same with lion vocals.

Foxpro has a bobcat in heat and aggressive bobcat sounds here www.gofoxpro.com/main.htmClick on 'sounds' on the left, then 'bobcat' on the right. I've used the bobcat heat sound a couple of times with no luck, never used the aggressive sound.

I have a tiger and lion refuge 'bout 4 miles "as the crow flys" away from my house. They are very vocal in the early morning hours. Their calls may be a bit of overkill though. Still they scare the crap out of my dog. Something else to hear their roars carry over the hills.

I have a personal website with a few free sounds on it. Not exactly a non prey animal but I have had good luck with the cat.mpg for bobcat. Then again I have also had good luck with it on fox and coyote also. WWW.CALLINGALLHUNTERS.COM

Hi Turbines, I couldn't get it to work myself just a minute ago. I call the internet company and the server is down. It should be up shortly. Sorry about that.
