Another good use for snap link is extensions for all conibears. No matter how much care I put into wrapping cable on a body grip, they seem to come undone and tangle with other traps in the box. Now I just make up extensions with a no 6 mini swivel and loop/double ferrel at other end. A 1/4" snap link will fit right through the eye of the mini swivel, and then just snap on your snap link to single chain link left on conibear, or just snap on spring arm. Gives you a swiveled extension that is quick on/off the trap Now you can snap off the extension, coil up and throw in shoulder bag, and conibear is free of cable to tangle in trap storage box.
Heres another quickie: On a long snare with a no 9 swivel or mini swivel, you can cut off your loop cable after a catch, and add a new short snare to the extension in the field, w/o having to untie your extension. I use up a lot of short kill pole snares doing this that I dont use up very fast.
Quickie No. #3: Snap link long 8-12' snare around kill tree tie off in seconds w/ a snap link, instead of having to thread the entire rig back thru your stake loop end, especially when using snares with choke springs that are sometimes a pain to thread thru your stake loop.
Damn I like quickies when I get the chance!!!
