it doesn't make sense?
if you want a comeercial lure, buy one-
if you want to put castor on a piece of mud- then do that- don't make it rocket science-
doesn't secrete both? I won't argue the point, cause I don't know-
but what I do know- 100% know- that you can mix sac oil and castor, and it works the same- and the mix, gets better with age

I don't buy commercial beaver lure. Scraping a castor Is as far from rocket science as you can get I believe In the KISS method. I believe In straight castor with some glycerin mixed to make a paste. The thousands of beaver that I have caught with this mixture makes my point.

I am sure your way works fine, I know my way works fine, Im sure a 100 other ways to apply caughht castor works fine as well

Never said that. It's just that I tried other mixtures and they didn't preform like my system did. I've used this lure for over 30 years I have put a lot of thought Into It. I have tried numerous combos. I even mixed urine with castor. I kept noticing the red stain left In grooming areas. No castor mound. Just a red stain with the smell of castor. I figured that the beaver was depositing castor along with urine. But no matter how I mixed oil urine castor I couldn't come up with that red stain. I guess It's a beaver thing.
But no matter what I tried I always came back to straight castor.
Is It the only way nope. I have used Roberts GREEN beaver lure and It works. I have used straight oil and It works.
There Is more then one way to catch a beaver.
