Dang boys , boys , boys , a little temperamental??? LMAO. The jawbusters do perform better than the crunchproof. I will list the ways. The CP clogs with grass and weeds/mudvery easily and frequently , especially in snow/freeze/thaw conditions. The CP j hook opens right consistantly when pulling cable stakes. The Jawbusters dont , I have been using them for a few yesr now and am very impressed. they have a larger body openeing which leaves them less prone(in fact can not remember having any clogged) to clogging. the J hook is in a class of its own also. VERY rare to have one open when pulling and I will stretch my neck a bit to say COYOTE PROOF. And also , when buying in bulk................DING, DING, DING..........Cheaper by the hundred. No barrel type comes close. More time to weld could afford to use others , but not enough time in day so use these. First J Hook you shut you will feel the difference.

I'm with the T-man on this one today. A stomp would be more like 953 vs 490, especially when after the fact people attest that a very significant portion of the 490 were shot from an airplane or helicopter!!! Me"...better and cheaper..." Once upon a time on CRU there was a post about making your own sterling style swivels. On this post there were or was a guy or guys making these types of swivels. Sterling swivels are also hand made, are they not. If I'm wrong here, then you can jump on my head, but only then. Why were they cheaper? cuz some nice guy was willing to take the time to make these swivels and then sell them cheaper for. I can't make them, but somebody was. Why were they better. 17's post eludes to the answer... 17 HMR ..."I wish someone would come out with a 6 ga or bigger j hook with a little longer shank, it would reduce the fouling in heavy grass..." Now I don't believe that they were a heavy 6 gauge, but they may have been, however, they most certainly did have a longer shank which wuz why they were better. Welded shut they were as strong as they had to be, there's no wolf out there that was going to break the thing. The reason that they were gooder was the longer shank that greatly reducded the amount of fouling in long grass. They were better cuz they would swivel longer than a sterling swivel in such environment.

The problem I see with the CP and I'm assuming the JB's , is that as you get into the thicker swivel body using the same length rivet, there is less distance between the swivel body and the closed part of the rivet. I have seen where on a 24 hour check that the Coyote had most if not all of the swivels bound up when caught in grass, alfalfa, etc. Now if you don't have these problems more power to you, but if you do, the nail hook type swivel, will solve this problem....B....

Do understand the cheaper and better version was a sterling copy, but with a much longer shank on the nail, putting the loop of the swivel farther away from the swivel point.
