better and cheaper.
I didn't think you could use those 2 words in the same sentence.
Better no way, cheaper if that's what your into. Of all the copied Sterling swivels I have seen they are all crap, from Custer's bender to the guy out in MN or Wi they all plain suck.

The sterling swivels have a heavier nail head than I've been able to find in hardware stores.
I've made a lot of my own and I don't think that they are quite as heavy as the ones I make but how heavy do they have to be?
I've caught several hundred animals with them with no problems.

I don't know why anyone would use nail swiveles. anyone who works with the nails that are made today knows that the modern nails are junk. a lot you just hit with a hammer and the nail head flies off or if you try to pull them the head will pull off. now if you want to get into making your own nails, not worth it. for price or durability you can't beat the "jaw breaker" swiveles. very heavy duty. some trappers are into "nostralgia" and "the look". and think it just has to be that way, well to each his own.

Common or bright nails have more head and thicker than sinkers. You may have known that.
I like the sterling type over CPs hands down. Bed under trap easier and clog less.
Guys would sell a lot more to the non welder folks if they were connected to chain on both sides. Even with one St at trap, and a CP at end is better than all CPs. IN MY OPINION.
Any swivel is better than none.
Edit to say, American made nails, not home depity do

I didn't say no other swivel would work. I 'm saying I have never seen one as nice and uniform as Mr. Sterlings is. Don't make me come out there Steven, it won't be pertty.

snow? oh boy,snow.
thats right, no other swivel works in snow except Sterlings
Give me a break
they work just fine in the snow, the cold, the mud ,etc.
you want to use Sterlings do so- but don't try to pull the wool over my eyes telling me what workd fine, doesn't.
