I won't spend that kind of time for an extra 5 maybe 10 bucks on a coyote
I will......and do- that adds up to an extra $1000 plus on canines- and its worth it to me.. but I draw the line on possums......LOL

can you work for $1,000 amonmth? actually with p[ossums at $7 I believe the ease of put up anmd numbers a guy could catch, even they beat coyotes financially. joel, our eastern dogs are brutes that you can`t pull without much effort and often a machine, then need scraped like a badger. no easy strip out like the sw desert dogs. not to mention the cuckle burs, lord have mercy, the burdock is even worse.

Tman if all I had was coyotes I'd probably be doing what your doing.
However to put that much effort into a 100 animals when all I have to do is catch 1-2 more animals to make the same money is wasted effort.
I'm not knocking what your doing, just saying it doesn't make sense in my situation.
Bob, we get some big coyotes as well, but your right, the young of the year strip out pretty easy.
The only coyotes that I intend to skin this year are the top end easy skinners.

and I see exactly what you are talking about- and I'd do the same. To you coyotes are my possums, and I understand that.

tman, with no cats, good cats I mean, it`s a rough row to hoe justifying trapping on a financial basis.

Bob- if it wasn't for coon, year in and year out- I couldn't do it here.
with all the furbearers here, and by trapping all of them, its doable.
But I make more on gophers thats for sure.
trapping 4 month,s sometimes al itlte longer, I can average a weekly income thats more that I could make in most jobs around here- and without a doubt, having stuff mostly paid for, allows me to do it. With a new house, a couple of new kids- I couldn't do it.
and for sure, I can't make money on coyotes alone-

Walkingstick, I've heard Kemel 4 is the same thing as Borax with a brightner. Is this true? I've always used Borax on wet spots and feet/ears to avoid slippage. Aren't detergents used in tumblers at the auctions to tumble fur?
