just got some of those rebar stakes made today, hopefully if everything goes well i will cach a few animals next year to put 'em to the test, thats for all the ideas guys

I just 9 gauge wire my coon traps to logs or trees.
I have found that double up 14 ga wire works better long term for coon. A single strand of #11 can and wil lbreak. I've never tried #9 for coon- too stiff and unworkable for me.
You guys that use a slide, curious to what's your favorite lock?
I've used about every slide out there, and find them all to be good. More often than not, I use use a common swivell as the slide- works very well, and leaves the trap versitile for other uses.

I agree whole heartedly with Steve on the slider thing. If the end swivel is used you can use the 1 1/2s for land trapping coon and foxes.
