I agree beav the stapler is the way to go with alot of hides AND only if you have the stapler set up NOT to drive staples in the whole way, otherwise it is a pain. I would still never use it for animals you have to flip (yotes, bobcats, fox etc.)

A coat of boiled linseed oil is a good thing for all stretchers every few years and should cure any potential bleeding of tannins, etc. It'll still let the wood suck up a bit of moisture from the fur and not inhibit the drying. Do it in the spring and let them dry for a few days, before storing them.
