This last issue of the Trapper had an article on urine useage. While I've always respected the author of this article....I must say there was some of the most piss poor advice in this one I've ever seen.anybody else read this article ? Thoughts ??

Well I hate to ruffle any feathers here, but!! LOL I very rarely read any articles any more from T@PC and put any substance in them. I have stated this many times before, years ago @1984 I loved getting it (T@PC) full of information, full of helpful hints and above all much thicker and full of articles by respected writers. It does not seem as much that way anymore today, the articles are very elementary, well I will leave it at that.

Ditto garman. Trappers world is much better, but some of the guys there don't get much of my respect either.

The predator hunting I can accept, it is the deer, turkey etc that I cannot.

Back in the day just Wiley Carroll's column was worth the price of the magazine.

I also remember the "tips section", recipe's section, regular columns by guys CATCHING fur, not just those that BS the best. Articles on fox/yote, taking big coon and mink #'s, Carman, O'Gorman, etc. These were great articles as well as the # of article from the non-published trappers. The magazine was so good you held on to them for years to refresh your memory and use for reference. Somewhere along the line that all ended, about the time the predator calling section expanded to a mainstream hunting.

This is bad news I was thinking about trying T&PC again, just canceled my trappers world-not what I call a publication more like an overpriced newsletter way hit and miss on the authors and terrible on the editing

terrible on the editing
Agreed! I would have thought someone at Trapper's World would know a 2nd or 3rd grader that could help them out with editing...or try spell-check.

terrible on the editingAgreed! I would have thought someone at Trapper's World would know a 2nd or 3rd grader that could help them out with editing...or try spell-check. The spelling and southern dialect in print is one thing but when you read a two or three page article and realize nothing was said the entire article its even worse than the superficial stuff, I remember some of the articles were like WTF like the big story about the trapper who married a woman who didn't like trapping but went with him once, you read it and your like 'why is that in here'? how's furtakers is that a good publication?

Better yet they have that dingbat Hal Sullivan in there and I just can't stand the dummy. Once he sold out the Ohio trappers that was the end of TP&C for me.

predator hunting and trapping go together as they are both tools to harvest fur and doing both can really up your canine take and calling can make you a better trapper as well. No different than snares, all tools to gain more knowledge and up the take.

I know of hardly any trappers that call fur- and most callers dont trap. At least around here.
