When I see him again I will see if he can make me some more. Don't know the price yet but I am sure they will be reasonable.
I think he reads this forum so he might see it...

you lucky stiffs with fox left. I need to go two crossed 36`s on occasion and in sugar sand have run a third 36 even. all with bent ends to boot. &**( #@#% coyotes.

Two crossed 18 inchers will hold coyotes in most of my shaley, rocky soils. There are some locations on my line where there are soft sediment deposits where they won't though...
Granted, I only catch one coyote for every 10 fox, so my opinion of this might change if I was catching large numbers of coyotes....but it is working for me now.

probably the reverse, as coyotes force them to utilize under highway culverts, populated housing additions and habitation with people, so more are seen than in the past, giving the illusion there are more. uh uh, you re just seeing all of them, and of course a hi number of the pups get run over. I see the poor little things actually denning in I80 cloverleafs on the way back and forth from wyoming. I imagine most of the pups get smashed and the few that survive likely get busted by the coyotes quick as they leave the safety of the cloverleaf.

90% fox here, there are coyotes that run the power lines through the state forests, but down in the valleys where the farms are, it is reds almost totally.

then you are good. we havn`t been 90% reds for 25 years. scary when you think we were 100% reds 35 years ago. now we are ~98% coyotes, which equates to 10% as 1 coyote displaces 10 reds numbers and territory wise. I imagine a 100 coyote man in indiana covers more ground and works harder than an eastern pa or md 1,000 fox man.

Bob, How many 100 coyote men exist in Indiana? Serious question.
I believe there are quite a few in the surrounding midwestern states.
I don't know how many 1000 fox men there are in the east but I could darn near guarantee they could be counted on one hand.

probably the same, counted on one hand. you hear a lot of talk but when the b.s. is washed off , dang few in all midwestern states put togather. I mean for $20 averages or far less for midwest coyote, would you do the same labor as the 1,000 fox guy for 1/10th the money? heck, 10 times the money is a bad deal, let alone the reverse. between the mud and 200-300 permissions needed, all on postage stamps, human interferance, ridiculous laws and the same b.s. the eastern fox men put up with, either ( indiana 100 coyote man or eastern 1,000 fox man)could catch 2-10 times as much in the arid west with unlimited public ground and populations and little human interferance and good laws. I know, I`ve done it, repeatedly. so could all the others. I know the western guys will scream and kick. how many strate hop east? duh.

I weld pipe for a living, and nut or washer doesn't matter. Whatever I can get for free. I have huge access to all kinds of rebar that the masons usually throw away, mostly half inch. 3/8 is another story, not too plentiful. I like 1/2 for canines and 3/8 for water trapping with a "T" handle welded on the top. Easy to push down in the mud with your waders or hip boots on. I made a slick stake puller out of uni-strut (Electricians use it all the time for hangers) Doesn't weigh too much and works real good, even in frozen ground. You guys sure have a nice site here, lots of good info.
