I can get the 350 here for about $3800. if you want I can get two. too bad bub isn`t coming again, I could send him loaded on the way too. my wife priced one of the smaller ones at 2800, so I believe you can get that 250 even less if you go in all mean looking and only $3,000 in your poocket.

Have them remove the original tires and put on Bear Claws or something similar.

2wd, never needed a 4wd. here it is mud, not snow or rock climbing. I`ve never seen the mud a 2 wd wouldn`t go thru fine. I`ve even had it in water 2 feet or more deep( daily sometimes )for a 1/4 mile or more, feet on the handlebars and putting across to a swamped set after a 5" downpour. had a few creek crossings where I have to start upstream and endup downstream it floats so bad, but makes it.

Gonna stick with the deal I just made. The manager is even gonna deliver it to me. I don't make it to town much with driving through KS City and Desmoines and Minneapolis on the way to the FTA I'm good from going to town again for the rest of the year LOL

I've had Arctic cat, Suzuki, and Honda, and have driven Yamaha quite a bit.
Honda was the best, Yamaha great, One great Suzuki (250) one terrible suzuki (350), I have never had so much trouble with a machine in my life as the Arctic Cat. Stay away from them!!
Honda is it, I doubt I'll ever own anyhting else. Of course I said that about my first Suzuki as well.

I've only heard good things about the Cats. They have a higher ground clearance and are a little wider. This is good for stability but a pain if you are in other ATV ruts.
They are also a little less expensive.

Fun with Bob W? That would be a good book title. I already have some interesting photos of Bob but would love to have one of you climbing a den tree barefoot.
I'll bet Steve C has some good photos of Bob from way back, maybe even some blackmail type stuff?

I climb like one of those coconut climbing islanders. need bare feet to do it. not bad if it`s not too cold out. if the coon can get to the hole, then he is in deep doo ,as so can I. ( get in deep doo or get to the hole, or maybe both!) and I pity the son of a gun that runs across the road in front of me with a mile of bare ground before the closest hole. stompity stomp, huff huff.

Yea, I got a few pics. This is one of my favorites though. The year we took this pic, the guy on the left caught over a hundred fox part time in pure coyote country. The guy in the middle caught over a hundred fox plus over 200 coyotes that year, and the guy on the right caught over 500 fox and i think one coyote. I'll let Bob tell you guys who they are.

Well I have my new Honda. They told me I have to bring it back in after the first 20 hours to have the valves set or something? Still can't find where it says that in the owners manual oh and they need about 100$ to do it? Anyway they explained how important it is to clean the air cleaner every ten hours and I'll keep up on that and oil changes every 100 hours. Any of you guys familiar with this valve thing after 20 hours? all the farmers around here never took their atvs in for such a thing shoot most of them never even change the oil or clean the air filter.

Jeff the easiest way to see if this SOP would be to call a different Honda dealer and ask.
As for $100 for doing it, this seems pretty excessive to me for 20 minutes of work.
BTW, Does your maching have an hour meter? I just assumed it would only have an odometer.

I'd do like robert says jeff.
Call someone else and also make sure it doesnt void the warranty if its not done.
Sounds like hooey to me.

ya, sounds like baloney. maybe the new ones have been engineered past their capabilities. If it is mandatory, I`d assume it`s a free service, part of the deal.

Finally read the whole owners manual yep its in there check valve clearance at first 20 hours. Yeah I wasn't too happy when I just spent so much money and then they say oh yeah by the way you need to bring it in after the first twenty hours to check valve clearance and it costs between 75 and a 100 the guy couldn't remember what it cost as the serviceing is done next door. The owners manual says every 20 hours for air filter but the manager thought it should be cleaned every ten hours. How often do you guys clean your air filters on your atv's? It's got a pretty decent size compartment by the taillight kind of like a glove box was gonna put a can of fixaflat in there and there is already a tiny tool kit from honda in there any tips on extras its good to have in there?

lol, mine is 3 years old, maybe 10,000 HARD hours. I`ve never touched it except a few oil changes and put gas in it. he charged ytou total retail, I would demand that as part of the deal, or ignore it completely. the salesman is, well, a salesman.

jeff does it have a spec in the manual for the valve clearence ? it's a very simple job requiring basic tools a set of feeler gauges and some wrenches and maybe a screwdriver as far as voiding the waranty how much did you get ? most is not more than 6 months when i bought mine it said right in the manual that if it was bought for commerical or trapping purposes only 3 monthes for me lol but to save some tax i had to give my liscence number to the salesman
