They are good, make sure they are staked down hard. The coyotes only dig up the one's that catch something and they tug away until they get their meal. Off season a walnut wired on the paddle slows the squirrels down. Cost is around 6 $ up here.

Nope. 15 year old Victor Harpoon type mole traps. NO digging required. The new victor mole traps in the hardware stores here are JUNK.

Have not seen any of those harpoon ones for 10 years, they are good- one each way in the tunnels. Less fussing setting. Coyotes digging out traps is the main problem here then looking, my sollution has been 3 ft rebar through a brake disc for weight, all blaze orange painted with 2 traps on cable down the tunnel.

I second what trapperjoe said above!
The NEW Victor spear type traps are junk! The spears are not even sharpened any more!

lots of work to prevent cooytes...LOl
just use a fiberglass fence pole, and wire the trap to that. I have multiple gophers eaten daily by badgers and yotes-

The racoons just pull their hands out when caught going after the walnut, so it is not a cheap litte griz, better luck next time.

I prefer the older American made Victor Out-O-Sight Mole traps. Heck of a trap for all soil types if you know the tricks of successful use. On my own I used to average around 400 a season - from April 01 through October 31.
The new Korean made Out-O-Sight traps are almost junk.

I actually really like the most recent Out of Sights that are coming out of China. They were never made in Korea, though they used to be made in Taiwan. About 5 or 6 years ago, the manufacturing moved from Taiwan to China, and the first year or so, the Chinese made traps were complete junk. The spring tension was way too strong, and the quality control was non-existent. I still have several hundred of them sitting in garbage cans behind my shop that I've never used(Woodstream was nice enough to send free replacements). But about 3 or 4 years back, the Chinese manufacturer really got its act together and got the product right. The spring tension was corrected, and the quality control is now better than it ever was on the old Taiwanese made version. I like the new ones just fine, and I say that as a competing mole trap manufacturer. If anyone is interested in the tunnel traps I manufacture for moles, have a look at my website at www.traplineproducts.comSteve
