Rex & Rosy on the line. Rex in back ground, Rosy in front. Still pups. Training Plott Hounds, I hunt behind for Bear in OCT. They belong to very good friends from WI. This is a RedTick, used for cold tracking.

Good looking pictures Stanley!!
When did you show your Airedales their first coon?
My Airedale Jaz is about 6 months old, i'm planning on showing her a coon early in the fall. Hopefully I can turn her into a coon killing machine.
I had never been around an Airedale before this pup, I just can't get over how smart she is..pretty neat dogs.

Early in the fall would be good. But it wouldn't hurt to let her see one in the cage. The first time I have ever let them fight, I had adult dogs there. Let them start the fight, then turn in my pups. Small coons the first few time also. Those big sows and boars, are bad to the bone, can hold there own. I've had good luck letting the adults show how its done. I'm always praising them for there efforts, during the brawl.

Sounds about how I used to start hound pups Stanley. Here are some pictures of some hounds/dogs i've had. My current Airedale Jaz relaxing on the couch with my middle son Hunter. A couple walker hounds I used to have Angel and Ridge, treeing on a coon with my two sons 3 years ago, I can remember that night like it was yesterday. Here is a lion I killed out in Utah 4 or 5 years ago with the help of a friends hounds, rough hunt for a flatlander like me. I'll have to upload some more pictures later, thanks for looking at them. Here's Mitzy. I had my share of Lurchers and Patterdales a while ago. I just can't seem to find a Patterdale I want right now. I had mine shipped from England but I never seem to come accross a bold one here in the East. Those 2 dogs were hell on groundhogs, coon and every cat that crossed my property.

here our working dog Gate. A 6 months female Border Collie. Fast as a lightning...good nose but still too crazy to let her out without a leach.

Stanley , i can tell you a bit about Bodger's dog, Its a whippet X greyhound . they use these dogs in the UK for sight catching rabbits , fox and even deer . The use them lamping at night and during the day . I was impressed w/ what I saw of them while there , I also went fox hunting in the Fells w/ hounds and terriers while there. The terriers there are the real deal , i talked to Brian Nuttall on Monday and he told me he has over 30 Patterdales at home right now . Hunting season starts there next week so many will be going out to hunt clubs. Hunting w/ lurchers ( sight hounds ) is great sport in the UK. Its starting to catch on here in the States w/ the coyote dogmen. Those sight hounds can really cover some ground------FAST!

In the UK there are thousands of rabbits along w/ hares and fox. The dog stays at your side as long as the light is off , as soon as the light snaps on they sneak the perimeter of the light stalking and then --------------- all hell breaks loose . they will catch a rabbit or fox ! Great sport ! While there I saw several small fields w/ as many as 200-300 rabbits in them at one time , one spot even had a red fox laying in amongst the rabbits waiting for his chance.
