In reading all thes posts, it was indicated that you made the waxed dirt in July. It could be one of two things. Maybe the wax isn't adhering to the dirt because there is more humidity in the air in July than October. May be like was said that for some reason it isn't a matter of not evaporating, it just isn't adhering to the dirt. There is a product I've seen at trapping conventions that, when mixed with soil, causes it to be unwetable. The same condition could exist in the dirt or the wax. Seeing as you changed dirt types, I would suggest changing the wax type. Not all wax is the same. HP

Years ago a buddy and I bought two bags of a advertised freeze- proof dirt. Both bags froze solid In the garage. We returned them next convention and the person said that they had had some problems and the new stuff would work OK It did, so I would assume It has something to do with the type of wax or the amount. I would doubt It would be the dirt.
