Thanks for passing that on Dave, you've no doubt saved me some trouble there.

I had removable wooden slats as floor boards that kept my catch up out of the water. Don't pile your catch to high like up on the decks, you don't want to get your center of gravity to high or you will end up being top heavy and that's asking for trouble.Keep your catch low In the boat It's a lot safer.

" . . . you don't want to get your center of gravity too high or you will end up being top heavy and that's asking for trouble." Hmmmm . . . guess this explains why Gary never stands up in a boat!

I've got an 11' Jon Boat that I want to use on the Cedar River this fall. I don't have a motor yet, but may find a source for a motor. Will a trolling motor take me back upstream to the vehicle? This isn't a very fast movin river unless it is high. Do you guys ever use your motor going downstream to get to the sets faster? I could use the oars to go downstream faster though.

When I used a canoe I always worked upstream first because then I was fresh. When I reached the upper end of the line and my arms were getting tired of paddling I could basically ride the current back down. Just a little tip.

I've gone out of the boat a few times and I always survived the ordeal but as you get older you get smarter well some of use do. Remember the two guys that went out of their boat In Lake WI a few years ago? both of those guys died because they screwed up. My Mother In law was slated to go fishing with them that day, but for some reason she didn't go or otherwise we would have lost her also. No mother In law jokes please LOL I remember when I was young I was Invincible Ya right.
