the older the better. if I could use all 50 year old stored in glass winter meat fed, I would. I have a 5 gallon bucket of lure I made as a senior in highschool and I`m 59 now. every year I open and smell it and it is so good I`m saving it for when I get old and need the really REALLY good stuff. read the formula out of pa game news. here it is. in a 5 gallon bucket coil 5 gutted red fox. in the center of the coil mash up one red fox liver, 10 gall bladders, a dopuble fistfull of red fox fat,all the urine bladders and all 5 brains. fill 1/4th full with WINTER COLLECTED MEAT FED URINE and bury over the summer. strain off fluid in the fall and trap. now, I did that and in later years added 1 pint ground beaver castor, 1 pint ground rat glands, 10 drops skunk essence and 1 pint glycerin. now 40 some years later it is smooth gravy consistency and the bones are sunk to the bottom. not black and sewer but the sweetest red fox smell you ever whiffed. maybe when I die I`ll leave it to wheelie, or if the nta would ever get right I`d leave it to them to auction off. my bet is wheelie or fta gets it as I don`t believe nta will last as long as I do. now it`s worth too much for me to use. plus I`m sentimentally attached to it now too. I`ve got about twenty various 5 gallon buckets similar, but different , for this and that. and I can`t bare to use any of it as it is too good. I`m serious as a heart attack on this post. and this year I bought lure. can you imagine?
