Not to contradict, but I would highly recommend that you sift out the large clumps in the bale. I have used it dry or right out of the bale, but those thumb size clumps could cost you an animal. I pre-sift like toenailer said. I keep mine in a rubbermaid tub with cover on it then I can sack it up to carry on the line.

Thanks Greg, seems like I do have some experimenting to do. I have a 6 ft. 3 point hitch pto driven tiller for my tractor. I tilled up some dirt real fine last fall and put a half barrel in the shop. It worked real well but I thought I would play with other stuff.
