Nothing makes me feel more cared for than having" The Beav."looking out for my well- being. But there are two things that come into play here........ as Beav. and I both know there is a legale distance for sight exposed bait, and a warden would have to leave his truck to pinch me IF I was in violation of the law, and I am not.

what do some of the "baiting" laws out there state?
In MN, you may not have a trap within 20 feet of bait that is capable of being seen by "soaring birds". This includes any animal, any parts including fish. Exception is fur or feathrs used for flagging.

Maryland : No bait restrictions. Like I said we can use a cage with live chicks or ducklings. We can wire a live catfish in the creek. We can hang a chicken from a tree.
I will not set dead deer and we get plenty of them during deer season. I have seen bald eagles at deer kills. I could care less about accidently nailing a buzzard but I dont want to catch an eagle.

The way to use a deer is set back away from it. I hang snares in the trails etc. Here in Ks I get a deputy to tag a road kill for me then move it where I want it.
