Beav says
I still have some 2 years old dry peat moss and I can still smell it.
The problem is not the peat... its the bag.
Remember the post I made a while ago about the mountain of peat I've found.... I could not get some but had the time to smell it good and the "loose" peat did not stinks at all.

Yep, you're right Bob.

coyotes and humans are the same, always a few oddballs, or wise acres, or smarty pants, but mostly just average joes that will look at a hot dame everytime without regard to if it is a con of some sort. Those are the ones we catch . Otherwise they would be extinct ,and we all know homey don`t play that game. So spread your peat out like a hot dame with perfume to die for and you have 95%. The other 5%, ah, probably high maintenance anyway and not worth the effort if not on an adc job. We can get those too, but rarely profitable except to prove you can do it.

**Was that the bale you opened on the kitchen table?**
We dont *have* a kitchen table.(Long story).
And I have virtually *NO* kitchen priveleges beyond getting something from the fridge.
I am not allowed to put anything *IN* the fridge.Ever.
FWIW,I opened the bag of peat at the top of the basement stairs.............the debris was NOT contained however............

I have been using peat this year and I frankly don't know if I have had refusals, the ground in my part of Kansas is so hard that unless it's an elephant ,it only leaves tracks in mud puddles.I think alot of these questions can be got over if people just realize that the coyote is going to "know"you have been there, they just don't care unless they have had a bad experiance before. We all know coyotes have a sense of smell that is uncomparable to ours, but they also are not our equals in the brains department. If coyotes were as smart as some people think ,we would be the ones being hunted.I think the largest amount of coyotes will investigate a pile of strange dirt and I think that peat will infact attract a few coyotes. With everything being equal,I would rather have good ole dry dirt, but I am not afraid of peat,an neither is the average coyote,in my opinion.
